WHAT AWAITS IN 2050?

Scintillating electronic screens, streets filled more with droids than people and an effortless yet pretentious life : this does sound like our future, right?

With an accelerating growth in fields of technology whose advancement is forever expanding, the life in 2050 awaits to unfold the progress of mankind;it could have a positive result or even a negative one. Due to the proliferating population of humans which escalates every minute, who knows that someday a whole settlement may build up on Mars or an entire metropolis might be shifted into a ginormous high tech space craft which will perplexedly float through our secluded cosmos as if a child forgotten his way back home.

As a result of excessive rise in population, it is unlikely to spare area for primary activities like farming, fishing and even livestock which might lead us to sustaining ourselves on lab grown meat, genetically modified crops and synthetic flavors.With the recent growth in biotechnology, humans can also be genetically modified by manipulating our genes to produce so called "Designer babies".

Imagine yourselves in an offspring designing shop where experts promise to provide you a meticulously carved baby with any colour eyes you want, the IQ level you wish your child to have and even the height that you want your little one to have but it might cost an arm and a leg!

Obviously our lives will be controlled by gadgets in 2050. It can also be possible that you can attend your work, college, school, business events, family functions and much more by just projecting your face on a screen which will make you be present even at the mysterious edges of our planet.

Robots might be present to attend your household chores so you don't need to move a muscle!

This sounds relaxing right now but it really isn't. A sedentary lifestyle like this one may result into diseases, illness, health issues mainly obesity and many more repercussions. So you can continue your gym membership without any further high hopes😅

Flying cars...it seems like a possibility. It sure sounds an extraordinary experience to fly through the white fluffy clouds that promise rains, amongst the wrath of the sun and almost reaching heaven. 

Approximately 30 years down the lane, we might have to say an unfeigned goodbye to electricity and welcome superconductivity where certain materials will have the capacity to generate electricity without resistance in a hope to reduce the exorbitant electricity monthly bills. 

Well, global warming has become an incontrovertible fact about our current livelihood: our planet is warming up and we are definitely the part of the problem. Earth is poised at the brink of a severe environmental crisis which has drastically changed the landscapes we already know. 

Loss of biodiversity, climate change, deforestation, ocean acidification, pollution and massive influx of natural disasters has already affected us and we know that it is not going to stop and will get worse. If we do not take proper care now,the bigger question is, will the human population even survive till 2050?

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF 

There's always a girl in your class who sits at the edge of your classroom, her presence inconsequential, who seems rather interested in her sketchbook than what the teacher is training. Well, luckily that girl is me; Vrushti Mehta. I like to call myself a dreamer and I assure you that through this blog you will get to explore all the twisted lanes of my imagination along with a couple of pieces of my descriptions. Currently, being in grade 10 and simultaneously living in this chaotic yet monotonous city,my imagination has no limits. I promise to post articles or pieces that directly erupt from my mind on this very blog every fortnight.

WHAT IF WE ARE NOT ALONE?

Sitting on the verge of our very universe is an artist, known to us as God, who invents planets from the pebbles which lie upon the great black silhouette. His delicate fingers brush through these planets to meticulously carve immense mountains and seas that plunge into abysmal depths. The heat from his hands forge the scintillating stars which are sprinkled upon the black silhouette. His tears of gaiety give rise to waterbodies upon planets, moreover, asteroids and comets are mere scrap pieces of his previous artwork. We are a result of one of his creations but the bigger question is, 'Are we his only animate creation?'

For a moment just forget about movies like Men In Black, E.T, Star Wars or any other movies which consists of aliens and think, wouldn't it be marvelous to meet other creations of God, the visionary artist. I'll bet they will be as amazing as his other creations. Keeping aside the communication obstacles, together we can unfold the mysteries of this great black silhouette alongside our creator by just sharing our knowledge and experience through millennia. Imagine the possibilities of ideas opening up the untraveled roads of our brain thus widening our perspective of our existence.

By befriending a whole new species, we would be required to share our Earth with them and vice versa . Since childhood, I have always thought that travelling through space would be the coolest thing ever and it would be unbelievable if it really comes to existence. Whether these creatures have 2 heads, are 10 foot tall, have 3 hearts or have black blood; they will surely get reflected upon the width of the biology textbooks. Kids in school would be forced to learn a completely new language whilst they will be required to remember the names of extant celestial bodies or even galaxies. Sounds a lot of work! 

Would you be able to imagine yourself working in a company owned by a green slimy thing or running over an alien in the market and asking,' Hey 48663, how did the operation of your ninth eye go?'

You may say that Earth already has numerous set of problems to be dealt with, why add another one? 

Certainly there are issues like global warming, pollution, dearth of natural resources which can even put human life on stake which might make the other species uncomfortable.

The other bone of contention includes social constructions like gender differences, racial disparities, economic issues and inequality which might make it difficult for some of us to accept them. But the main question that has haunted our mind ever since the beginning of our evolution is, WILL THEY COME IN PEACE?
